Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Kürşad Zorlu, stressed that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ (TRNC) acceptance as an observer member in the Organization of Turkic States in 2022 was a historic step in the struggle for equal sovereignty.
The Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Kürşad Zorlu, met with the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Turkmenistan.
In his speech, Zorlu drew attention to the Organization of Turkic States’ relationship with the TRNC.
Reminding that the TRNC was accepted as an observer member at the summit held in Samarkand in 2022, Zorlu said, “This decision marked a historic turning point in the TRNC’s struggle for equal sovereignty and status. The goal of various power centres trying to distance and even divide us as we make progress is to hinder the Turkic Century and the Turkic Corridor. As long as we continue to firmly hold on to each other and transform our capabilities into prosperity for our peoples, our unity will carry us into the future.”
