Date Added: 15 February 2023

The Union of Cyprus Turkish Chambers of Civil Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB) announced on Tuesday that it had begun studying concrete samples collected from the rubble of the İsias Hotel in Adıyaman which had collapsed in the earthquake, claiming the lives of 35 members of the Gazimağusa Türk Maarif College and their chaperones.

It added that a technical report to be prepared once the study is completed will be shared with the public.

The statement also said that the report will assist in the legal process to bring to account those responsible.

There are serious allegations that the hotel building, which collapsed entirely, failed to meet building codes and safety standards.
