Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre has completed his contacts in Malatya, Türkiye.
On his last day of contacts in Malatay Töre was a guest on Er-TV.
Touching upon the Cyprus issue during the live broadcast, Töre said that the Turkish Cypriot people will not make concessions from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and said that a federation thesis such as a United Cyprus has now diminished.
The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre has completed his visit to Türkiye.
During the last day of his visit to Malatya Parliamentary Speaker Töre took part on a live program on ER-TV.
Evaluating his visit to the region Töre said that they were able to see the great disaster caused by the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquake in Malatya and stated that it is not possible to accept the improper structures.
Töre noted that the committee formed in the Parliament regarding the earthquake is following the judicial process, stating that they have full confidence in the judicial authorities of the Republic of Türkiye.
Stating that there are many people from the Malatya region living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Töre expressed the hope that there will be direct flights from Ercan to Malatya in the near future.
Also touching upon the Cyprus issue, Töre noted that they will not compromise on the TRNC with the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and said that the federation thesis have come to an end.
He said that Türkiye, which is the strongest country in the region and has the longest coastline in the Eastern Mediterranean, is their greatest strength.
Referring to his visit to the Turkic world, Töre said, “Our hope is to move from observer membership to full membership in the Organization of Turkic States.”
