PM Üstel: All necessary precautions will be taken for a safe New Years

As the year 2023 comes to an end, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), along with the rest of the world, is preparing to bid farewell to 2023 and welcome the year 2024.

In order to ensure smooth, healthy, and safe New Year celebrations, a security meeting was held at the Prime Ministry.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel held a meeting at the Prime Ministry with the Police General Director Kasım Kuni, Police General Director 2nd  Deputy Zafer Zaifer, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Sadık Gardiyanoğlu to discuss the measures to be taken in the new year.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Cahitoğlu, Prime Ministry Undersecretary of the State Planning Organisation Durali Güçlüsoy, Tourism Ministry Undersecretary Serhan Aktunç, and Economy and Energy Ministry Undersecretary Şahap Aşıkoğlu.

Precautions to ensure that citizens spend the New Year celebrations smoothly, healthily, and safely were discussed during the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, “The safety and peace of our citizens comes first. All necessary precautions have been taken for the safest and most peaceful passage of New Year’s eve and the following day. On this occasion, I wish the New Year to bring peace, happiness, health, and well-being to our entire nation, and I sincerely congratulate everyone in the New Year.”

Police Director Kasım Kuni emphasized in his speech that they have carried out the necessary work to ensure that the public enters the New Year in a peaceful and healthy manner.
