The leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel continued his tour of the countryside on Sunday by visiting Minareliköy and Gaziköy.

Speaking with villagers, Üstel said that their only concern was the prosperity and welfare of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

“Our focus is to keep our state, which we are proud of, alive. We will continue on our way with determination. No one can turn us from our path,” he said.

Emphasizing that they have now entered a new path following the historic call made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the UN, Üstel said, “We are moving forward in embracing and recognizing the world. We will improve our cooperation with countries that want to cooperate with us in every way. We will continue to speak on every platform and make our voices heard.”

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining unity and solidarity to achieve stability in the country, Prime Minister Üstel noted that all sectors in the country will be strengthened and that the government will shoulder all responsibilities.

Pointing out that despite the global crises, they are providing all kinds of support to the sectors, especially social premium support, Üstel gave good news that they will announce a new loan package in addition to the first home loan, which received great attention from the public.

Touching upon the Cyprus problem, Üstel said that talks for reaching a federal settlement, which was a waste of time, had come to an end.

He said they were working for the recognition of the sovereign equality of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Also providing an update on the –Yiğitler Pile road, Üstel said that the Greek Cypriot side, by playing deceitful games, were attempting to expropriate land in the buffer zone just outside of Pile.

He said that all such attempts will be thwarted and that the road, which aims to facilitate easier access for Turkish Cypriot residents of Pile will be completed as soon as possible.
