Tatar to visit Azerbaijan in near future

The 47th anniversary of the Taekwondo Karate Judo Aikido Federation was held on Sunday and both President Ersin Tatar and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre attended the event.

Speaking during the event President Ersin Tatar reiterated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an inseparable part of the Turkic World and said that it is important for Azerbaijani and TRNC youth to come together in sports.

President Ersin Tatar delivered a speech at the event held by the Taekwondo karate Judo Aikido Federation in celebration of the 47th anniversary of their establishment.

The President noted that there are guests from Azerbaijan among the participants of the event and welcomed them.

Stating that sports is friendship and brotherhood, Tatar noted that the Greek Cypriot side mixed politics with sports and made attempts to prevent Turkish Cypriot athletes from participating in international competitions.

Tatar stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is an inseparable and unbreakable part of the Turkic World and that it is important for Azerbaijani and TRNC youth to come together in sports.

Announcing that he will visit Azerbaijan in the coming days upon the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Tatar said that the ties between the two states will further strengthen through mutual visits.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre for his part said that embargoes can be overcome through sports.

Stating that they were against war and that they are always in favour of peace, Töre said that while doing this, independence, sovereignty and the homeland should not be compromised.

He stated that they will never give up sovereignty and independence, that they will not be deceived by imperialists and colonialists, and that they will continue on their way by working hard.
